Sanctity of Life?
Here's a poem my mom wrote:
Sanctity of Life?
Where to begin and where to end
This circle of life, it plays
Like a record with a broken needle
And skips
And skips
And skips
Leaving common sense behind.
Don't step on a crack you'll break your mother's back
But it's okay to kill a fly
Or swat a mosquito
And spray weed killer on your lawn
But wait, the flowers are dying
And fetal alcohol babies are crying,
Their mothers curled up in drunken heaps are lying
In the streets, and we keep walking. On the cracks.
Of the mother's backs.
