"A robe of white??"

I have this towel that was given to me. And it's white. And huge. And soft, and cozy.
One day, I pulled it out of the laundry and found this huge black stain on my white towel. I've been struggling with some sin/flesh issues lately, so finding a stain on my nice shite towel seemed a little prophetic.... (Rev. 4:4 and Rev 7:9 show people worshipping in Heaven wearing white robes- white is often symbolic of purity in the Bible, and we know that in Heaven everything will be brought back into perfection, so there's no stains in that picture....but here on earth, sometimes we struggle and don't live up to our own ideals of where we ought to be by now...)

This is the interpretation that came to me:
God has given each of us the gift of purity, although over time in the world, it's easy for us to get spots on our white garments. Sometimes we don't even know where it came from, or how it got there; impure thoughts, desires, lusts crop up when we least expect them to. How do we fight it? Take it to Jesus. How do we gain victory in our thought life? TAKE your thoughts captive, and MAKE them obedient to Christ. Easier said than done sometimes. In the process, I remember this song:

What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of JESUS.
Oh, precious is the flow, that makes me white as snow!
No other fount I know, nothing but the blood of JESUS.

I also talk to people that will hold me up in prayer and keep me accountable and who I trust. But first I've got to go to Jesus.
